A Moment of Prayer
A request for a national “moment” of prayer came across my desk many years ago. (A few excerpts are here)
“Someone has said if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Did you know that during World War II there was an adviser to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace?”
One of our greatest assets is our collective prayers!
F.B. Meyer wrote, “The great tragedy in life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.”
The Old Testament instructs the faithful: ‘if then my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NAB, usccb.org)
Will you add your voice to ours?
Every evening at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central) (7:00 PM Mountain) (6:00 PM Pacific), take a moment to pause your activity and spend just one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens, the most vulnerable of our country, and for strength in upholding true Christian values and morals.
